gUIDEBOOK / APP DESIGN WORK
A substantial portion of my time during the internship focused on projects pertinent to adding and maintaining content for Oregon State University's branded Guidebook mobile application, the OSU Guide. Within the OSU Guide, which is maintained by several separate campus departments providing individualized student and/or programming content, my energy was focused on the "Beaver Tools" guide, maintained by the SAC&M Office.
Focused on providing an engaging, comprehensive resource list for students, the "Beaver Tools" guide included information on student academic support, common university language, maps, transportation information and university-led social media. The above gallery shows several screenshots taken of the app and associated resources that I utilized: in particular, several pre-existing or in-progress map images that assisted in my development of the Campus Resources Map project.
The Campus Resources Map project, available to view in the navigation bar, is a project originally intended to be developed using the pre-existing Guidebook mobile app capabilities. The intention behind this project was to provide a means for student users within the "Beaver Tools" to access location-based student resources that was mobile, accessible and interactive. The final project is hosted through Google custom maps, and contains layers with the following resources:
• Gender-Inclusive Restrooms
• Family Resources (including lactation rooms, child care centers and family housing)
• Water Bottle Filling Stations
• Eco2Go Container Returns
